Founded in 1993, the department focuses on research and teaching in several engineering fields: Robotics, Semiconductor Manufacturing/IC Packaging, Medical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and Energy, Materials and Manufacturing, and Solid Mechanics.
The department actively conducts cooperative research projects with Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Formosa Plastics Group.
