Overview
The International Master Degree Program for Molecular Medicine in Emerging Viral Infections is designed for both domestic and international students who have a background in biology, biomedicine, or biotechnology and are highly motivated to engage in a rigorous educational program leading to the achievement of a Master of Science degree. The faculty members possess specialized knowledge in several domains, including emerging viruses, virology, biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, microbiology, immunology, and several fields within omics/systems biology, such as genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics.
Emerging viruses have the potential to be etiological factors in disease outbreaks that pose a significant risk to public health. The comprehension of the molecular-level pathogenesis induced by new viruses and the development of prophylactic measures and treatments are of utmost importance in mitigating the occurrence of outbreaks. The objective of this master’s degree program is to foster the development of skilled individuals in the realm of interdisciplinary research pertaining to emerging viruses and biomedicine. The medium of instruction for all lectures and laboratory courses is English, facilitating the acquisition of a wide range of concepts and research abilities in contemporary biomedical disciplines. Students are afforded the opportunity to utilize the state-of-the-art core facilities located inside the Research Center for Emerging Viral Infections and the Molecular Medicine
Research Center at CGU.
